Protecting your data and your children's data is at the heart of Storykido. Here's how we handle it.
1. Who are we?
Storykido is an online service for creating personalized illustrated books for children. The data controller is Storykido, reachable at contact@storykido.app.
2. What data do we collect?
We collect the following data:
- Account data: name, email address, password (hashed)
- Your child's photos: photos you upload for illustration personalization
- Order data: shipping address, order history
- Payment data: managed exclusively by Stripe (we do not store any card numbers)
- Usage data: pages visited, interactions with the service
3. Your child's photos — AI processing
What we do with the photos:
- ✓Photos are sent to our artificial intelligence providers to generate personalized illustrations featuring your child's facial features.
- ✓Photos are stored securely and accessible only from your account.
- ✓Photos are never shared with third parties for advertising, commercial, or profiling purposes.
- ✓You can delete your photos at any time from your settings or by deleting your account.
By uploading photos, you confirm that you have the necessary rights to these images and consent to their processing by artificial intelligence solely for the purpose of creating book illustrations.
Our AI providers process images transiently and do not retain them beyond the time necessary for generation.
4. Why do we collect this data?
- Contract execution: create your book, process your order, generate illustrations
- Consent: AI processing of photos (consent given during upload)
- Legitimate interest: improve the service, prevent fraud, ensure security
- Legal obligation: retention of billing data
5. Who do we share your data with?
Your data is shared only with trusted technical service providers, strictly necessary for the operation of the service.
These providers only have access to data essential to their mission and are subject to confidentiality obligations. No data is sold or transmitted for advertising purposes.
6. Data retention
- Account data and photos: retained as long as your account is active. Deleted on request or upon account deletion.
- Order data: retained for 10 years (legal accounting requirement).
- Payment data: managed and retained by our payment provider according to their own policy.
7. Your rights (GDPR)
In accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation, you have the following rights:
- Access: view the data we hold about you
- Rectification: correct inaccurate data
- Deletion: delete your account and all your data
- Portability: obtain a copy of your data
- Objection: object to the processing of your data

8. Security
We implement technical and organizational measures to protect your data: encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), photo access restricted to your account (Row Level Security), hashed passwords, and limited server-side data access.
9. Cookies
Storykido only uses cookies strictly necessary for the operation of the service (authentication session). We do not use advertising cookies or third-party trackers.
10. Changes
This policy may be updated. In case of substantial changes, we will inform you by email.
